Web Home Art Section

Finally I've made progress with getting the larger part of the fine art back-catalogue loaded onto the newly designed web home. Over a hundred works have been loaded into exhibition timelines and into a overall icon based search page. The remainder of works to be loaded include recent work and a selection of about another 40 works that didn't make it into the exhibitions featured on the timeline. The whole process has been shred on the facebook page as well. Once all of these have been added, I have to start work on the other four main sections that will now form part of the new portal home page. they included web, graphic, interior design and photography portfolios. Just a quick note on some of the new features on the art micro site: Every artwork is now featured on it's own page containing all the stats about the artwork, visual size approximations and all related video footage and links are placed with every artwork. In future I will be adding more details on every artwork including small video clips where I'll discuss the images. (This will make my Youtube channel look slightly better as well) As for future artwork additions, I plan to document the process behind every work as far as possible on individual artwork pages, which I think will make the site slightly more interesting than just a regular online art portfolio. Check out the new art micro site and tell me what you think!

White noise filtered

2013 has certainly kicked off fast around here. I started the year with an urge to change everything from my address to my website and how I work. While this process has to a great degree become overwhelming, I do feel that the change from the old world to the new world (we all know how the world ended on December 21st last year)is well on track. One of my big plan for 2013 is to actually start implementing ideas I had over the last few years, but for many reasons, laziness being my only real excuse, never got round to exploring.... blogging being one of them. So here goes! 2013 has arrived, my blog has a new look (so does the website) and I'm ready to become a blogger-supreme! I would have liked to have this up and running earlier, but most of my time was consumed by getting my studio transformed, although it took me almost 2 weeks to settle into the new house and renovate the studio space, the result is pleasing and I'm hoping that I can keep myself this productive for the next 12 months.... New studio space before renovation:
Here's where I'm blogging and working from now..... after a lot of sweat and very late nights.....

New in the Studio

So this is what's been happening in the studio over the last couples of days. It's the first panel on a series of 9, dealing with radical South African political figures. The completed 9 panels will be shown as a single work.

New work completed...

I've just completed another of those hideously boring bread & butter artworks... this is the sort of stuff that pays the bills while I work on more meaningful works for exhibitions....

Webhome Update

I'll be publishing some more back-catalogue work on my websites tonight. The new collection will be images taken from an exhibition hosted by the South African High Commission in Maseru in conjunction with Maseru Sun Hotel during 1997. Have a browse! http://www.corneeksteen.co.za
